RFID readers were placed around our New York City office: at the water coolers, coffee machines, bathrooms and shared meeting spaces. All employees were given a tag that they can tap on the reader to register their presence and their taps were logged for one week. Beyond the tag's ID number, we don't know anything about the person holding the tag.
